History
Established in 1997, Hesstech, LLC has considerable
industry expertise and is recognized as a leader in developing new
technologies and setting industry standards. Following his employment
with New Jersey's Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP),
Founder and President David Zimet, worked for a private company contracted
with the NJDEP, and managed site selection and development of the
State's first approved, government-funded, ongoing residential electronics
collection program and demanufacturing facility. This program was the
first of its kind in the United States. Known as the "Union County
Demanufacturing Program," the NJDEP project unveiled key issues surrounding
the improper disposal of electronic equipment and exposed a rising need for
environmentally sound disposal services in the commercial sector. In response
to this need, upon completion of his service with the Union County Project,
Mr. Zimet established Hesstech in 1997 to serve the public and private sector
with the following goals in mind:
- To balance economic processing solutions with sound environmental principles
- To responsibly extend the useful life of computers and electronics
- To provide comprehensive data security and cradle-to-grave documentation
For more than 10 years, Hesstech has provided successful
electronics resale/recycling/ inventorying service options. These
services range from being the primary contractor managing the removal,
logistics, resale, and recycling for a large public merger/acquisition
including over 900 laboratories and thousands of offices, to handling single
item pack and ship services for a national sales force.
Most organizations in the asset retirement and recycling
industry look to achieve what Hesstech has developed in process efficiency,
accountability, and cost control. The STAR SystemSM, Hesstech's
proprietary business intelligence system, is under review by the U.S. Patent
and Trademark Office. Hesstech hopes to soon provide others with the
tools needed to verify and document that services are performed in accordance
with the highest industry standards and address social and environmental
issues on a global scale.
