| Demanufacturing |
Back |
Demanufacturing is conducted by either manual dismantling or shredding. Non-working or obsolete equipment is demanufactured, and components such as leaded CRT glass, batteries, mercury devices, liquids, and other materials are extracted prior to recycling or shredding for metals and plastics recovery.
- Non-hazardous scrap commodities are shredded where 100 percent of the reusable metals and plastics are recovered.
- All hazardous components (e.g., batteries, mercury switches, fluorescent lamps, and leaded glass from monitors) are removed, packaged properly and shipped in accordance with state, federal, and international regulations to audited recycling or disposal facilities for final processing.
- All end markets for hazardous component disposal are audited, with records available for client review.
